Job Summary

Sharp HealthCare is seeking a skilled LVN to join our Primary Care team at SRS Downtown. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care and support to our patients and staff.

Responsibilities
  • Assist patients, staff, and physicians as needed to maintain a high level of efficiency and customer service while providing quality care to a designated patient population.
  • Administer medications safely and accurately per guidelines and written order, ensuring verification by a licensed person and documentation of all medications administered.
  • Prepare patients for examination or procedures, obtain complete and accurate consent for procedures/surgery, and prepare and label biopsies in a thorough and accurate manner.
  • Accurately document patient care per protocol, partner with physicians to continuously learn and expand clinical knowledge base, and listen to patients, collect pertinent information, recognize the urgency of the patient's problem, and route to physicians.
  • Provide specific educational material and individual teaching in partnership with physicians, use universal precautions, and demonstrate knowledge of infection control policies and procedures.
  • Assist with Medical Assistant medication verification, troubleshoot and resolve problem calls, and complete daily tasks to ensure quality and meet service standards.
  • Participate in clinical projects as directed by the physician or manager, respond to urgent and emergent situations in a calm and capable manner, and maintain appropriate supply levels and cost-conscious usage.
Requirements
  • California Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) - CA Board of Vocational Nursing & Psychiatric Technicians - REQUIRED
  • AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Professional (AHA BLS Healthcare) - American Heart Association - REQUIRED
  • 1 Year LVN experience in related clinical area, Ambulatory care experience, ACLS Certification (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - American Heart Association - PREFERRED, IV Certification (NPTA Sterile Product Certification) - Various-Employee provides certificate - PREFERRED
