Land Surveying Technician

Position Summary
The Land Surveying Technician will support survey teams in gathering critical data related to the elevation, shape, contour, gravity, location, or dimensions of land or land features for construction purposes. This role includes assisting other trades with equipment setup and installation.
Key Qualifications
- Possession of all necessary Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities for the position.
- Ability to meet all physical demands of the job.
- Willingness to adhere to all safety protocols and regulations.
- Access to reliable transportation.
Position Duties
- Identify and utilize all tools necessary for assigned tasks.
- Recognize safety hazards and implement measures to mitigate those risks.
- Assist in pinpointing specific locations according to plans and GPS data.
- Support the setup of surveying instruments.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas.
Required Skills
- Understanding of materials, tools, and processes related to basic construction techniques.
- Ability to perform basic arithmetic calculations.
- Reliable transportation is a must.
- Availability to work a full schedule and any required overtime.
- Commitment to safety and adherence to all relevant rules and regulations.
- Compliance with all company and site-specific guidelines.
- Possession of necessary tools for the job.
- Current employee of Zachry or a Zachry ROF'ed individual.
- Previous experience with Zachry Industrial, Inc.
- Formal or technical education in a related field.
- Experience in carpentry, concrete work, and rebar installation.
This position does not have any direct reports.
Physical Demands
- Must be capable of standing, walking, bending, squatting, sitting, and lifting for extended periods.
- Effective communication requires the ability to talk and hear.
- Utilization of arms and hands for signaling, gripping, holding, turning, pushing, and pulling objects, materials, controls, and tools.
- May need to lift, carry, and move items weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Work at heights, climb ladders and stairs, and occasionally operate from platforms/scaffolding while adhering to fall protection standards.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions (heat, rain, cold, wind) while wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Required to wear PPE, including but not limited to hard hats, safety glasses, ear plugs, masks, high-visibility vests, leather gloves, and steel-toed boots.
A list of required tools will be provided.
