- Administrative Support
- Organize and perform patient care services that support the physician's practice.
- Prepare patients for examination and procedures.
- Assist physicians with procedures and exams.
- Communication
- Relay instructions from the physician to the patient or authorized person.
- Collect patient data in person and by phone and document patient concerns.
- Document messages and care provided in the electronic medical record for the physician's review.
- Medication Administration
- Administer medications specifically directed by the physician.
- Registration and Scheduling
- Complete and accurate message taking, routing messages to the appropriate area for direction, order and referral entry, setting up of cases in EMR system plus basic registration and updating of demographics.
- Test Results and Communication
- Track and route test results to physician(s)/nurse practitioner(s) for review.
- Communicate test results with patients when deemed appropriate by physician/nurse practitioner.
- Inventory Management
- Maintain adequate inventory of medical, office, and pharmaceutical supplies.
- Technical Skills
- Perform basic computer skills using electronic health record proficiently while conducting daily documentation and communications involved in patient care.
- Order Processing
- Process orders appropriately and accurately.
- Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Skills
- Medical assisting skills.
- Vital sign documentation skills.
- EMR system proficiency.
- Work Environment
- Monday - Friday 8 AM - 5 PM (flexibility to work to 6 PM if needed).
