Job Title: Sr Cloud Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Sr Cloud Engineer to join our team at Smart Energy Systems Inc. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cloud computing, system administration, and database administration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and manage cloud infrastructure, including public, private, and hybrid clouds.
  • Lead the cloud computing and storage team, system administration team, and database administration team.
  • Develop and maintain the Master System Security Plan (MSSP) for compute, storage, and database-related controls.
  • Manage the annual operating budget of $10+ million, including capital, vendor, contract, portfolio performance, and risk management.
  • Ensure compliance with SOX, DCAA, and IT security requirements, such as National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Special Publication.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's/master and 5 years or more of related experience.
  • Cloud computing and virtualization technologies, including cloud service provider architecture, design, and configuration.
  • Cloud deployment models, including public, community, private, and hybrid.
  • Cloud service delivery models, including infrastructure-, platform-, and software-as-a-service.
  • Previous leadership of system administration and database administration teams.
  • Automation, hypervisors, containers, virtual compute, storage, and networks, virtual infrastructure management, self-provisioning, and scaling.
  • SOX and IT Compliance Controls, including National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST).

Desired Skills:

  • Experience with AWS, Azure, GCP, VMware, Veeam, Nimble, Cisco, Dell, and Oracle.
  • Code JSON to make VPC's, DHCP Option Sets, Control Environments, Backup Regions.
  • Implement Terraform to leverage Infrastructure as a code on various public clouds.
  • Serve as lead on network projects and participate in network infrastructure design.
  • Experience with AWS/GCP Plan, Design, Configuration and implementation of new Cloud Environments for optimal Cap Ex and Op Ex.
  • Experience with Vulnerability Management tools.
