Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Radiology Technologist to join our team at Advocate Medical Group-Leroy. As a Radiology Technologist, you will be responsible for operating radiology equipment, positioning patients, and securing support devices to perform procedures. You will also be responsible for maintaining patient safety and quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate radiology equipment and position patients for procedures
  • Secure and immobilize support devices as needed
  • Maintain patient safety and quality patient care
  • Perform daily quality control tasks, including inventorying supplies and maintaining adequate stock
  • Label radiology images according to department standards and criteria
  • Prepare contrast media as necessary following department standards and manufacturers' recommendations
  • Perform daily sensitometry of processors and assist in annual inspections
  • Check film quality and ensure proper and correct labeling is provided
  • Perform quality control activities and respond to inquiries
  • Coordinate patient flow and communicate with providers to ensure exams are completed in a timely fashion
Requirements
  • IDNS license
  • Graduate from an accredited AMA School of Radiology
  • Knowledge of Health Information System
  • Basic knowledge of radiology equipment
  • CPR certification
  • Licensed by IDNS
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists registered (ARRT)
Working Conditions

The Radiology Technologist will work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision. The ability to work under stressful conditions, in difficult situations, and to deal with extremely ill patients is essential. The position may require exposure to hazardous materials and life-threatening diseases.

The Radiology Technologist will be required to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance and to use patient handling equipment when necessary. Unique patient lifting/movement situations will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
