Position Overview:
The Critical Care Registered Nurse (RN) serves as a vital healthcare provider, taking on the responsibility for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care. This role requires the RN to employ the nursing process through the integration of technology, therapeutic interventions, evidence-based practices, and collaboration with the healthcare team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and address the psychological and physical needs of patients on a daily basis.
- Promote high-quality care with a focus on the well-being of patients and their families.
- Develop personalized treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs.
- Adhere to guidelines for evaluation, treatment, and documentation.
- Supervise care provided by Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) and Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs).
- Engage in clinical team meetings to discuss patient care strategies.
- Follow established hospital policies, regulatory standards, and professional guidelines.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) from an accredited institution; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) within four years.
- A valid Registered Nurse license in the state of practice is mandatory.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification endorsed by the American Heart Association.
- Preferred: At least one year of nursing experience in a similar environment.
Physical Demands:
- Continuous visual acuity to read information, labels, and assess patient needs, as well as operate medical equipment.
- Frequent verbal communication and active listening with patients, care providers, and visitors, especially in urgent situations.
- Manual dexterity to handle intricate medical devices with precision.
- Regular computer usage for documenting patient care and preparing medications.
- Ability to lift and move patients, including bending and carrying supplies and equipment.
- Expected to assist in transporting patients and managing medical supplies.
- May require standing for extended periods and navigating busy environments.
