As a key member of the finance team, the Senior Accountant will act as the primary liaison for the Procure-to-Pay (PTP) process, ensuring that all aspects are managed effectively in collaboration with the Service Center teams. This role will provide support to the Senior Accounting Manager and the Associate Director of Finance, working closely with Procurement and PTP Service Center teams to identify and rectify gaps in internal controls related to vendor data management, client funds disbursements, and vendor payments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the subject matter expert for daily and month-end accounts payable processes and reconciliations.
- Facilitate the transition of PTP transactional tasks from In-Market to Service Centers, which includes identifying tasks, developing standard operating procedures, and providing necessary training.
- Collaborate with the Tampa Service Center to oversee US Accounts Payable activities, including vendor data management and journal entries.
- Ensure compliance with the US Credit Card Program, maintaining high standards for expense reimbursements and monitoring for non-compliance.
- Propose and implement improvements to P2P processes with guidance from the Global Process Owner.
- Assist in establishing guidelines and internal controls for accounts payable activities.
- Support the timely filing of annual US tax forms, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Work alongside Service Center personnel and In-Market accountants to manage daily accounting tasks and month-end closing processes.
- Ensure the accuracy of US balance sheet reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
- Address reconciling items and conduct root cause analysis to prevent future occurrences.
- Maintain compliance with all relevant state and federal regulations.
- Act as the accounting contact for assigned Functional Area Leads and address accounting inquiries.
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports, documentation of standard operating procedures, and annual budgets.
- Support the global tax team with US tax and statutory items as needed.
- Identify training gaps and opportunities for improvement within the team.
- Perform additional duties as assigned, demonstrating competence within three months of appointment.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting; CPA designation is highly preferred.
- Extensive experience in accounting practices.
- Ability to influence and consult with senior leaders on finance processes.
- Strong organizational and critical thinking skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office, SAP, or similar ERP software.
