As we expand our client base and project portfolio, we are looking for an experienced Resident Engineer to oversee inspections for medium to large-scale transportation and transit projects.
You will play a crucial role in the effective management of construction contracts, representing the Owner's interests on transportation-related projects. Your responsibilities will include utilizing engineering judgment to evaluate and resolve technical challenges, leading project teams, and collaborating with owners, designers, contractors, and permitting agencies to ensure timely project delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee on-site construction administration and inspection staff.
- Ensure contractor compliance with plans and specifications.
- Facilitate timely and budget-conscious project construction.
- Participate in progress, owner, stakeholder, and community meetings.
- Address and resolve technical issues.
- Review and prepare project schedules and budgets.
- Generate and issue reports and correspondence, including submittals and RFIs.
- Prepare and approve pay quantities and progress payments.
- Conduct reviews and prepare construction cost estimates.
- Negotiate and draft construction change orders.
- Perform constructability reviews and value engineering assessments.
- Lead claims and risk management evaluations.
- Develop and monitor Quality Control and Assurance Plans.
- Maintain professional relationships with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, or Construction Management.
- Preferred 2+ years of experience as a Resident Engineer, Project Manager, or Construction Manager.
- Preferred California Professional Engineer (PE) license.
