Survey Technician

As a Survey Technician at KLJ Engineering LLC, you will assist experienced survey professionals in gathering field data and performing general surveying tasks. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain practical on-the-job experience and understanding of KLJ standards.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in gathering field data and general surveying under the direction of a Survey Crew Chief.
- Contribute to boundary corner recovery and setting corners, field measurements for topographic, boundary, and construction surveys, writing stakes, and setting hubs.
- Maintain and prepare equipment for daily use and perform daily jobsite safety inspections.
- Ensure compliance with KLJ quality standards and utilize effective written and oral communication.
- Basic understanding of survey methodology and equipment.
- Ability to follow instructions regarding scope of services, budgets, and timelines.
- Perform daily jobsite safety inspections.
- Develop skills necessary for meeting daily survey crew requirements.
- Enrolled in a Civil technology degree.
- Previous survey field experience.
- Surveying and construction staking/layout experience.

The employee must:
- Be able to walk on uneven terrain up to ten miles per day.
- Frequently lift and move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and move up to 75 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
