Role Summary

We are in search of a Transition Age Youth Support Specialist to cultivate meaningful relationships with young individuals, understanding their unique needs, aspirations, and goals. This role involves guiding youth through available services to ensure successful outcomes, utilizing partnerships and resources at our center to foster engagement and success. The Support Specialist will also conduct mobile outreach to assist youth who may not currently reside in the area but intend to return, as well as those unable to visit the center. Promoting the center's services and activities to eligible transitioning youth is a key responsibility.

The 412 Youth Zone provides a comprehensive, welcoming environment tailored for transition-age youth with connections to child welfare. We strive to create a safe and supportive atmosphere, offering essential services and connections to help young individuals navigate the challenges of adulthood.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:
  • A High School Diploma with two years of experience working with youth, an Associate's degree with one year of experience, or a Bachelor's degree with preferred experience in youth services. Alternative combinations of education and experience will be considered.
  • Special consideration for candidates with prior involvement in the DHS system as clients.
  • Flexibility in scheduling.
  • A valid driver's license and access to a vehicle.
  • ACT 33/34 and FBI Clearances prior to employment.
