Logistics Supervisor

The Shipping Supervisor is the primary leader for shipping employees, ensuring that finished goods are retrieved from production, stored, and loaded for outbound shipments. This role requires strong leadership and supervision skills, as well as the ability to manage inventory and shipping documents accurately.
Key Responsibilities- Leadership and Supervision: Lead and supervise shipping employees, including scheduling and timecard approval.
- Inventory Management: Manage the inventory of finished goods, packaging supplies, and other materials.
- Shipping Documentation: Ensure all shipping documents are created and maintained accurately, including BOLs, hold tags, and associated documents.
- Inventory Cycle Counts: Perform inventory cycle counts and correct any discrepancies.
- Finished Goods Inventory: Own and manage finished goods inventory, ensuring that product is shipped properly and hold product is handled according to guidelines and disposition.
- Process Improvement: Develop improvement plans to increase efficiency in the shipping operation.
- Housekeeping and Cleanliness: Maintain high standards of housekeeping and cleanliness in the shipping and dock areas.
- Shipping Functions: Perform shipping functions as needed, including driving a forklift.
- Compliance and Safety: Ensure and promote compliance with company safety guidelines, as well as policies and procedures.
- Urgency and Attention to Detail: Demonstrate a strong sense of urgency and attention to detail in all aspects of the job.
- Organization and Communication: Possess excellent organization, communication, and follow-up skills.
- Influence and Conflict Management: Be able to influence others and manage conflicts effectively.
- Self-Directed and Ambiguous Situations: Be able to self-direct and take constructive action in ambiguous situations.
- High Standards of Excellence: Demonstrate extremely high standards of excellence in all aspects of the job.
- Education: BS/BA in Supply Chain, Business, Management, or Logistics; or equivalent experience with high school diploma/equivalency.
- Experience: A minimum of 3 years in a leadership/supervisory role with experience in shipping.
- Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Equipment driving experience - acquire or maintain certifications on required equipment.
