Position Overview

This role is situated within the Division of Risk Management Supervision at the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC). The incumbent will act as a key technical expert in IT oversight, serving as a vital resource for the organization’s supervisory duties.

Eligibility

This position is exclusively available to current FDIC permanent employees with competitive status eligibility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and execute IT examination processes, evaluate risks, and enhance the operational health of designated Significant Service Providers (SSP) and their affiliates.
  • Engage in high-level examination activities across various organizations, including other Service Providers and financial institutions, focusing on horizontal analysis, cybersecurity assessments, and special projects as required.
  • Provide expert guidance and training to examiners and relevant personnel, contributing to the development of policies related to technical competencies.
  • Manage supervisory tasks associated with the assigned organization, including drafting recommendations for the Regional Director and preparing comprehensive reports for senior management.
  • Serve as the authoritative spokesperson for the Corporation, effectively communicating complex technical information to diverse audiences, including FDIC officials and external stakeholders.
Qualifications

To qualify, candidates must possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS/CG-14 grade level or higher within the Federal service. This experience should include leading IT examinations of intricate financial institutions and regional Service Providers, analyzing system performance and security reports, and managing Central Point of Contact duties for regional Service Providers.
