Adjunct Instructor of Engineering Technology
Job Summary:We are seeking a highly qualified Adjunct Instructor of Engineering Technology to join our team at The Tennessee Board of Regents. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Associate of Applied Science-level Engineering Technology classes and laboratories, with a primary focus on the Engineering Systems Technology degree.
Key Responsibilities:- Teach and develop curriculum for Engineering Systems Technology classes and laboratories, covering topics such as mechanical systems, computer-aided design, and manual and CNC machining and operations management.
- Maintain knowledge of emerging technologies and processes relative to engineering technology and share this knowledge with students.
- Contribute to the day-to-day operation and routine upkeep of classrooms, labs, and equipment.
- Perform minor repairs and periodic maintenance on equipment assigned to the Engineering Technology Programs.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Industrial Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in the field, with consideration given to graduates of B.S. programs in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Industrial Technology with strong demonstration of experience in the field.
- Demonstrated experience in mechanical systems, AutoCAD, Inventor, Solidworks, and/or REVIT, manual and CNC machining, operations management, and quality assurance.
- Teaching experience at the secondary or post-secondary level or documented experience as a professional industrial trainer in electrical and electronic applications.
- Ability to support evening and distance education offerings as needed to reach students in varying demographics.
- Graduate degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Industrial Technology.
- Experience in course delivery through hybrid and online technologies.
- Empowers and motivates students to learn effectively.
- Ability to work with all student demographics in delivering required course materials without compromising the quality of the curriculum.
- Works effectively with other faculty and administrators to provide well-developed courses and programs of study.
- Is a team player and contributes to the department and the college with new ideas and approaches.
- Inspires improvement to advance the College's mission while preserving institutional principles and character.
- Broad, current industry knowledge and practical applied experience in the field of engineering technology are required.
- Willingness to participate as a team member to realize the overall goals of the Engineering Technology programs.
