Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Office Assistant Senior to join our team at the Confederated Tribes of the Colville Reservation. This is a full-time position that requires a strong background in clerical and administrative support, with a focus on customer service and technical skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative support to the Assistant Administrator and other department staff
  • Perform a variety of clerical and secretarial duties, including data compilation, typing, and filing
  • Assist with processing financial transactions, such as purchase orders and budget line item changes
  • Use personal computer-based software to prepare correspondence, reports, and other documents
  • Develop and maintain accurate and up-to-date records and files
  • Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers
  • Work effectively in a high-volume environment with multiple distractions
  • Maintain confidentiality of private and sensitive information
  • Develop and maintain productive and cooperative relationships with staff, parents, students, and external organizations
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Two years of general clerical and keyboarding experience in a customer service-oriented environment
  • Valid driver's license and eligibility for the Tribes' vehicle insurance
  • Working knowledge of office practices, procedures, and equipment, including filing systems, receptionist and telephone techniques, and letter and report writing
  • Working knowledge of procedures associated with processing financial transactions
  • Working knowledge of personal computer-based software, including word processing, spreadsheet, and software used in education
  • Sufficient arithmetic skills to compute sums and statistics
  • Sufficient skill using the English language, grammar, spelling, punctuation, and proofreading/editing to prepare standardized correspondence
  • Sufficient human relations skills to present a positive image of the Tribe, convey technical information to others, and use patience in dealing with a diverse population
Preferred Qualifications
  • Tribal member or Indian preference will apply
  • Preference will also be given to honorably discharged veterans who are minimally qualified

Please note that this position may be subject to pre-employment background clearances and drug testing. If required, you must possess and maintain a valid Washington State driver's license and be eligible for the Tribes' Vehicle Insurance.
