Dental Hygienist

Job Summary

The Iowa Department of Administrative Services is seeking a skilled Dental Hygienist to join our team at the Iowa Veterans Home. As a key member of our medical clinic team, you will work collaboratively with our Dental Assistant and contracted Dentists to provide high-quality oral healthcare to our Veterans and their spouses.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide prophylactic dental services, including supragingival and subgingival debridement of plaque, and detection and removal of calculus with instruments and or devices.
• Perform periodontal scaling and root planning, removing and polishing hardened excess restorative material.
• Review medical and dental health histories and each visit.
• Develop and implement oral health education programs for individual Residents.
• Assist dentist in general, restorative, and surgical dental procedures when necessary.
• Contribute to the organization and operation of the dental clinic.

Requirements

• Licensure as a Dental Hygienist in the State of Iowa.
