The Iowa Department of Administrative Services is seeking a skilled Dental Hygienist to join our team at the Iowa Veterans Home. As a key member of our medical clinic team, you will work collaboratively with our dental assistant and contracted dentists to provide high-quality oral healthcare to our veterans and their spouses residing in our long-term care facility.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide prophylactic dental services, promote oral health and wellness, and perform basic oral-health care and dental hygiene.
- Assist with periodontal scaling and root planning, removing and polishing hardened excess restorative material.
- Review medical and dental health histories and each visit.
- Develop and implement oral health education programs for individual residents.
- Assist dentists in general, restorative, and surgical dental procedures when necessary.
- Contribute to the organization and operation of the dental clinic.
