Job SummaryWe are looking for a qualified Recreational Therapist to provide direct patient care and lead therapeutic interventions in a correctional setting. The ideal candidate will have experience working with psychiatric, traumatic, and chemically dependent patients, and possess current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
Responsibilities- Communicate effectively with the Director of Recreational Therapy and interdisciplinary treatment team regarding patient progress and treatment interventions.
- Provide assessment and feedback on patient response to therapy and treatment objectives.
- Develop and implement therapeutic plans to promote psychosocial and leisure skills development.
- Teach coping skills and stress management techniques to patients.
- Utilize advanced knowledge of counseling and therapeutic concepts to determine therapeutic services for patients.
- Twelve (12) continuous months of experience within the last three (3) years rendering direct patient care in a public or private institution.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- NATIONAL or CA Recreational Therapist Certificate.
- Valid Photo ID Driver's License or Passport.
- Health Insurance.
- Quarterly Bonus.
- 40hrs paid sick time.
- Payroll - Weekly direct deposit.
- Paid Pre-Employment Testing.
