Job Overview

The Family YMCA of Greater Augusta is seeking a Child Development Specialist to join our team. This role is responsible for implementing curriculum, interacting and nurturing children in their care, and supervising their activities to ensure a safe environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement daily curriculum and student activities
  • Supervise special activities as scheduled
  • Maintain open communication with children, families, center administration, and Metro Child Care office
  • Attend center and association staff meetings as directed by center management
  • Certified and current in CPR, First Aid, and Fire Safety
  • Successfully complete 12+ hours DHR training annually
  • Actively participate in the annual Community Support Campaign and United Way Campaign

Requirements:

  • Must be 18-years-old or older
  • Have education or certificate in early Childhood Education; and/or 3-5 years experience in child care or group setting
  • Able to lift 50 pounds on a routine basis; and ability to escort children into or out of the building during an emergency situation
