Position Overview
This role is integral to Novanta's JADAK business unit, which focuses on tailored detection and analysis solutions for various original equipment manufacturers (OEMs).

About JADAK
JADAK is dedicated to addressing complex challenges in inspection, tracking, scanning, and documentation within the medical and advanced industrial sectors. Our team of engineers collaborates closely with clients to design, manufacture, and implement solutions that leverage a diverse range of technologies, including machine vision, RFID, barcode, and color and light measurement technologies.

Role Responsibilities
As a key member of the human resources team, the Human Resources Specialist will work in partnership with the broader HR Team and business leaders to assist in the formulation and execution of HR strategies aimed at attracting, managing, developing, motivating, and retaining essential personnel. This will help foster a high-performance, sustainable organization capable of meeting business objectives.

The HR Specialist will:
  • Provide first-line HR support to the business, addressing benefits, employee leaves, payroll issues, and work authorization.
  • Support talent acquisition efforts across the organization and lead recruitment activities for all hourly positions.
  • Facilitate a comprehensive suite of HR initiatives, including employee engagement, talent assessment, succession planning, and performance review processes.
  • Collaborate with management to address and resolve employee relations and performance issues.
  • Identify opportunities for enhancing HR policies and procedures.
  • Maintain HR systems and personnel records, ensuring compliance and reporting accuracy.
  • Offer high-quality advice and service to management on daily employee relations and performance management matters.
  • Complete special projects to support broader HR and people-related initiatives.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess:
  • A bachelor's degree; PHR certification is a plus.
  • A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in a human resources capacity.
  • Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail, capable of managing multiple priorities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills across diverse audiences.
  • Proven conflict resolution skills and the ability to manage difficult situations effectively.
  • Discretion and the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information judiciously.
  • Capability to interpret and align policies with Novanta's values and ethical standards.
  • Sound judgment and problem-solving abilities.
  • A customer-focused attitude, demonstrating professionalism and discretion.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Experience with HRIS systems (e.g., Workday, SuccessFactors) is preferred.
  • Familiarity with pivot charts and tables is advantageous.
  • A general understanding of employment laws and the ability to apply legal concepts in practical situations is preferred.
