Job Summary

Geisinger Health System is seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our Convenient Care team. As a key member of our outpatient clinic, you will provide high-quality patient care and support our providers in delivering exceptional healthcare services.

About Convenient Care

Our Convenient Care clinics offer quick, convenient healthcare services for patients of all ages. We provide treatment for common illnesses, physicals, immunizations, and more. Our clinics are open 7 days a week, making it easy for patients to receive the care they need.

Job Duties
  • Provide primary clinical support to providers, patients, and their families to assist in diagnosis and treatment.
  • Follow up on diagnostic testing to ensure completion, accuracy, and filing in the medical record.
  • Promote a clean environment and meet the qualifications to provide care for patients in specific age ranges.
  • Obtain and document patient medical history, chief complaint, vital signs, and provide basic medical data for providers.
  • Provide direct clinical care as directed by providers.
  • Assist providers in performance of minor surgical diagnostic procedures and ancillary diagnostic examinations.
  • Collect and prepare laboratory specimens and complete associated paperwork.
  • Execute and document ongoing patient communication, prioritize communication to providers, and respond to patient questions and requests.
  • Administer medications and vaccines under the direction of a provider and per scope of practice.
  • Clean and set up examination and treatment rooms between cases, ensure required levels of asepsis, and prepare patients.
Position Details

This position qualifies for a $5,000 sign-on bonus paid over two years. Certain stipulations apply.

The Clinic is open M-F 8:45 AM to 8:15 PM. Weekends (S/S): 7:45 AM to 6:15 PM. Every other weekend. Limited travel for potential coverage in another clinic.

Education and Experience

Graduate from Specialty Training Program-Nursing (Required). Minimum of 1 year-Nursing (Preferred). Basic Life Support Certification - Default Issuing Body; Licensed Practical Nurse - Default Issuing Body.
