We are seeking a highly skilled Dexterous Metal Stamping Craftsman to join our team at New Standard Corporation.

Overview

The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, evaluating, and administering necessary repair, maintenance, and troubleshooting of existing progressive dies and related tooling on a daily basis. This will ensure a safe, clean, productive, and economical operation that fully supports press production, while enforcing company policies and practices.

Compensation

We offer a competitive salary of $30+ per hour, based on experience. Our 4-day work week (Monday-Thursday) provides a great work-life balance, and we also offer paid vacation time.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work with metal stamping dies and take your career to the next level. As a Dexterous Metal Stamping Craftsman, you will be responsible for:

  • Repairing and maintaining progressive dies, cutting tools, fixtures, and gauges.
  • Dismantling dies, repairing/replacing damaged details or components, and verifying that the repaired dies operate correctly.
  • Reworking damaged components.
  • Completing change-overs as required on multi-use tooling.
  • Recognizing and repairing tooling failures while doing preventive maintenance on the bench.
  • Setting up and operating tool room equipment, including mills, lathes, and grinders, to cut, bore, grind, and shape parts to specific dimensions.
  • Heat-treating tooling components as required to meet print specifications.
  • Recording all maintenance notes and issues in the work task portion of the work order.
  • Specifying components required as needed for inventory.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of 3 years' experience working with metal stamping dies.
  • Former experience working with progressive dies at a precision metal stamping plant.
  • Experience in die repair and maintenance of progressive die production issues, preventative maintenance, continuous improvement, etc.
  • Knowledge of tooling materials and their characteristics.
