Medical Disability Examiner

About the Opportunity
We are looking for an experienced physiatrist with expertise in traumatic brain injury and neurology to conduct medical disability examinations on behalf of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.
The successful candidate will work independently, conducting interviews and physical assessments as needed. Exams may involve range of motion testing, muscle strength testing, and evaluating traumatic brain injury.
This is a non-prescribing, non-treatment role, focusing solely on evaluation and assessment. You will be expected to maintain accurate records and follow up with administrative tasks as required.
Requirements
- Board certification in Neurology, Neurosurgery, or PM&R
- Experience with musculoskeletal, diabetes, and cardiovascular conditions
- Familiarity with METs testing and evaluating respiratory, cardiovascular, and neurological conditions
- Proficiency in using a goniometer
- A personal laptop (Windows-based) for record-keeping and reporting
- Ability to complete evaluations in the provider's portal and review records
- DMA certification available for those who need it
Benefits

Compensation
Our estimated salary range for this position is between $150-$200 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications. We also offer opportunities for professional growth and development through DMA certification and CME credits.
