Your RoleAs a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the design and implementation of electrical systems, utilizing various software and tools. Your primary focus will be on developing robust power distribution systems within a collaborative project team.
Key Responsibilities- Lead a discipline engineering team on projects with minimal guidance; supervise design personnel and other specialists.
- Review and validate designs; assist in the creation of design guides, specifications, and control procedures.
- Act as the lead Engineer or technical expert on small to medium-sized projects, managing engineering activities effectively.
- Maintain oversight of project schedules and budgets, ensuring a clear understanding of assigned tasks.
- Conduct power engineering tasks and calculations for various industrial applications, including Oil and Gas, Renewables, and Wastewater Treatment facilities.
- Support the development of specifications and research for distribution switchgear, MCCs, panels, and motor starters/VFDs.
- Competently develop One-Line and panel schedules, cable tray layouts, and perform cable/wire sizing calculations.
- Review vendor submittals and create wiring diagrams based on vendor drawings.
- Identify and resolve discrepancies in work outputs.
- Mentor junior engineers, designers, and drafters, fostering their professional growth.
- Engage in site visits to observe construction and operational phases.
The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related ABET-accredited engineering discipline, along with 7-10 years of relevant experience. Additional qualifications include:
- Coursework in power engineering.
- Engineer-in-Training certification (required); PE preferred.
- Familiarity with the National Electrical Code and NFPA70E.
- Proficiency in creating and interpreting One-Line Diagrams and Control Schematics.
- Strong analytical skills, including fault current calculations and machine theory.
- Ability to effectively collaborate with team members across various disciplines.
