  • Assemble components by examining connections for correct fit; fastening parts and subassemblies.
  • Work with other members of the assembly process to complete coaches within the allotted time frame.
  • Troubleshoot all systems and repair defects.
  • Document actions by completing production and quality forms and reporting repetitive quality issues.
  • Identify and report errors when found on Prints and Bills of Materials.
  • Resolve assembly problems by altering dimensions to meet specifications; notifying supervisor to obtain additional resources.
  • Keep equipment operational by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.
  • Maintain supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies.
  • Assist in training assemblers of all skill levels.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Requirements:

  • A high school diploma or GED.
  • Ability to use a variety of hand and air tools for sustained periods of time.
  • Ability to interpret and understand drawings, Bills of materials, and other verbal and written instructions.
  • Ability to reason and solve problems as they arise.
  • Ability to read, write, comprehend, and verbally communicate in English.
  • Ability to accurately read a tape measure and other measuring devices.
  • Ability to differentiate between color shades.
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks while sitting or standing.
  • Ability to prioritize and exercise independent judgment.
  • Ability to lift 40 pounds.
  • Good hand-to-eye coordination.
  • Ability to perform all operations within acceptable quality and time standards.
  • Familiarity with the safe operation of various tools, including but not limited to drills, screw guns.

Working Conditions:

  • Ability to work in noisy and dusty conditions.
  • Ability to stand at a workstation for eight hours a day (minus specified breaks).
  • Ability to safely use specified hand, air, power tools, and machinery.
  • Ability to operate and understand the operation of all protective safety equipment in the area.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.

Education and Experience:

  • A high school diploma or GED.
