Commercial Autonomous Vehicle Lawyer

Waymo is a pioneering autonomous driving technology company with a mission to revolutionize transportation. As a key member of our Legal team, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of autonomous driving.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review, draft, and negotiate commercial agreements, including hardware purchase and development, inbound services, supply chain, joint development, and collaboration agreements.
- Provide timely and accurate legal advice to our product, engineering, sourcing, business development, finance, and marketing teams.
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners to address legal issues such as product liability, regulatory matters, agreement structures, approval processes, IP, and negotiation strategies.
- Contribute to the improvement of Waymo's legal department by streamlining processes, forms, and operations.
Requirements:
- JD degree, admission to the bar, and in good standing or otherwise authorized to practice law in the state where the position is located.
- 3+ years of experience advising on intellectual property and commercial agreements.
- Experience drafting and negotiating commercial agreements, such as licenses, supply, and services agreements.
- Experience in another specialist area of law, such as employment, intellectual property, corporate, or competition.
- Experience advising clients from hardware supply, R&D, or new technology companies.
- Experience managing multiple projects and developing expertise in new, complex subjects.
