About the Role

As a Machinist - 2nd Shift at Siemens Energy, you will play a critical role in setting up and operating advanced machining equipment, including horizontal and vertical milling machines, CNC machines, and speed mills. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure precise measurements and perform first article inspections on parts to maintain high-quality production standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate horizontal and vertical milling machines, CNC machines, and speed mills according to provided instructions or work packages.
• Use various precision measurement tools to check machined dimensions, verify tolerances, and perform first article inspections on parts.
• Set up and program parts applying "G" Code to write machining programs specific to each part.
• Exercise judgment to plan, perform, and make decisions regarding the sequence of setups, operations, and processes within the limitations of recognized or standard methods and procedures.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
• Machinist certificate or equivalent experience.
• Completion of a machining apprenticeship is preferred.
• Proficiency in reading blueprints and shop mathematics.
• Proven experience operating horizontal and vertical milling machines, CNC machines, and speed mills.
