Job Summary

St. John's Riverside Hospital is seeking a skilled Monitor Technician to join our team in providing high-quality patient care. As a Monitor Technician, you will be responsible for observing and interpreting cardiac rhythms, documenting arrhythmias, and reporting findings to the nursing staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Observe and interpret cardiac rhythms on patients in the Telemetry unit
  • Document arrhythmias and report findings to the nursing staff
  • Perform EKGs on patients as needed
  • Update patient records in Meditech
  • Maintain equipment, including EKG machines and heart monitors
  • Recognize and differentiate irregular patterns in patient heart readings
  • Multi-task and prioritize patient care
  • Communicate effectively with nursing staff and healthcare providers
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree preferred
  • BLS and Basic Arrhythmia Class with Certificate required
  • Currently certified by NYS as an AEMT-CC or EMT-P, preferred
  • 1 year experience required
  • BLS required
  • EKG certification required
