Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Sonographer to join our team at Meriter-UnityPoint Health. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic and therapeutic sonographic procedures, providing exceptional patient care, and collaborating with our healthcare team to deliver high-quality patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform a wide range of ultrasound procedures, including pelvic, abdominal, small parts, early OB, and routine vascular examinations.
  • Conduct clinical examinations on adults, geriatric patients, adolescents, and pediatric age groups.
  • Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of adult, pediatric, neonatal, and fetal physiology, cross-sectional, and vascular anatomy.
  • Recognize and document normal and abnormal findings, providing clear and concise verbal and written communication to healthcare team members.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care and effective communication.
Requirements
  • Associates degree or completion of a Sonography certification program.
  • Minimum 2 years of direct patient/healthcare experience (accredited program may count as experience).
  • Registered by RDMS in Physics and one of the following upon initial hire date: Abdomen, OB/GYN, or RVT.
  • Registered or Registry-eligible for any certification not held at the time of initial hire as follows: Physics, Abdomen, or OB/GYN, RVT.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associates or Bachelor degree from an accredited ultrasound program.
  • BLS certification.
  • Experience with varying ultrasound equipment systems and procedures.
  • Experience and training in neonatal environment.
