Financial Accounts Coordinator

Position Overview: This role encompasses a range of responsibilities aimed at supporting the financial and programmatic operations of the Fayette County Redevelopment Authority. Key tasks include fundamental accounting practices, account reconciliation, voucher processing, and ensuring adherence to various regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contributes to the execution of initiatives managed by the Fayette County Redevelopment Authority, particularly in relation to community development and affordable housing projects.
  • Maintains organized records, including the filing of journal vouchers, accounts payable, and accounts receivable documentation.
  • Generates a variety of reports, documents, and records as required.
  • Inputs daily transactions into the general ledger system and assists in the processing of invoices and preparation of payments.
  • Researches, tracks, and resolves accounting discrepancies or documentation issues effectively.
  • Supports the Finance Officer in gathering necessary information for the Authority's annual independent financial audit.
  • Handles filing and general administrative tasks as needed.
  • Participates in special projects and miscellaneous assignments as directed.
  • Performs additional duties as necessary to foster a productive work environment.
  • Assists the Finance Officer with human resources functions, including maintaining employee records and processing payroll-related tasks.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma with a minimum of four (4) years of experience in finance or clerical roles, or a combination of education and experience.
  • Understanding of basic payroll, accounting, and bookkeeping practices.
  • Proficient in the use of computers and relevant software applications (e.g., Word, Excel).
  • Ability to perform basic arithmetic and routine data entry tasks.
  • Demonstrates professionalism and courtesy in public interactions.
  • Willingness to learn office procedures and functions pertinent to the role.
  • Capable of following verbal and written instructions accurately.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Able to build and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues, external agencies, and the public.
