Aerial Construction Lineman Job Description

Mediacom Communications is seeking a skilled Aerial Construction Lineman to join our team. As a key member of our construction crew, you will be responsible for installing and maintaining our fiber-optic and coaxial cable networks.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Install and maintain aerial and underground fiber-optic and coaxial cable networks
  • Perform aerial construction and coax splicing in accordance with NESC, NEC codes and safety regulations
  • Work at heights using aerial lift trucks and climbing equipment
  • Collaborate with other crew members to ensure efficient and safe work practices
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on existing networks
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree preferred
  • 1-3 years of experience as a CATV construction lineman or completion of a certified apprenticeship program
  • Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record
  • Ability to pass a DOT physical
  • Knowledge of construction tools and equipment, including bucket trucks, lasher, blocks, pulling grips, and cable layers
