We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Athletic Trainer to join our team at St. John Fisher University. As an Athletic Trainer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the health and well-being of our student-athletes by providing top-notch medical care and injury prevention services.
Key Responsibilities- Provide medical care and rehabilitation services to injured athletes, adhering to NCAA, conference, and institutional guidelines.
- Assist in the prevention of injuries through education and training programs.
- Maintain positive working relationships with student-athletes, coaches, and staff.
- Attend team practices and contests to ensure safety measures are in place.
- Assist with administrative duties, including insurance coverage and communication with medical professionals.
- Work with work-study students and part-time hourly athletic trainer support staff.
- Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training or a related field.
- Master's degree preferred.
- Current New York State Athletic Trainer licensure or eligibility for licensure.
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
The Athletic Trainer will work in a well-lit and well-ventilated office and athletic training room. The position requires the ability to work in a variety of settings, including outdoor practices and competitions, and to travel with teams as needed.
Equipment and SoftwareThe Athletic Trainer will be required to be proficient in Microsoft Office, Google Docs, and other related computer programs. Modalities used for treatment of injuries include ultrasound, stim, hot packs, etc.
Job TypeThis is a full-time, 10-month position that requires the ability to work weekends, travel, and be away from home for extended periods of time.
