Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Civil Engineering Project Manager to join our team in Minneapolis. This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned professional to lead the design and delivery of sustainable transportation projects that make a positive impact on communities across the country.

Responsibilities
  • Manage a variety of transportation projects from design through construction, driving the success of engineering projects and providing influence to sustainable projects.
  • Implement best practices and process improvements to enhance project delivery efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Mentor staff and contribute to internal professional development and training to technical engineering teams.
  • Provide leadership and technical expertise to the Engineering team, collaborating with other disciplines as needed.
  • Prepare schedules, budgets, and scopes of services for projects.
  • Workload balancing and support regional leaders in business development.
  • Provide quality control over team deliverables.
Requirements
  • 12+ years of experience as a Transportation Engineer in a consulting environment or public entity, 5+ years as a Project Manager, and 3+ years managing staff.
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Professional Engineering (P.E.) license or TE (Traffic Engineer) licensure.
  • Experience in and knowledge of the field of active, non-motorized transportation.
  • Demonstrated understanding of and experience preparing Plans, Specifications, and Estimates packages for roadway projects and a detailed understanding of project management principles, methods, and techniques.
  • Ability to guide staff members and manage internal team expectations.
  • Exhibits strong initiative and ability to capitalize on opportunities to enhance Alta's position in the marketplace.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities, multiple simultaneous projects involving cross-functional project teams within budgetary and schedule constraints.
  • Ability and willingness to travel.
  • Excellent professional ethics, leadership skills, accountability, and decision-making capabilities.
  • Good presentation skills.
  • Working knowledge of MS Excel, Word, MS Project or equivalent, AutoCAD or MicroStation.
  • Proficiency in an enterprise-wide resource planning and project management tool.

  • Compensation: The pay range for this job in Minneapolis is $117,000-$180,000 annually.
