We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Patient Care Technician to join our team at DaVita Inc. As a Patient Care Technician, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to our patients with end-stage renal disease or chronic kidney disease.

About the Role

As a Patient Care Technician, you will be responsible for providing direct patient care, monitoring patients before, during, and after dialysis treatment, and educating patients on kidney dialysis-related topics. You will work under the supervision of a registered nurse and be part of a cross-functional team of clinicians, including technicians, nurses, dietitians, social workers, and leadership.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care, including monitoring patients before, during, and after dialysis treatment
  • Monitor patients' vital signs and report any changes to the registered nurse
  • Prepare patients for dialysis treatment, including setting up the dialysis machine and ensuring patient comfort
  • Provide education to patients on kidney dialysis-related topics, including diet and medication management
  • Work collaboratively with the healthcare team to ensure high-quality patient care
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Ability to work a full-time variable schedule with rotating Saturday shifts
  • Comfortable working around blood and needles
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods
  • Basic computer skills and ability to learn electronic medical records
