Our client is a leading provider of comprehensive eye care services in the Atlanta community, serving patients since 1971.

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Ophthalmic Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing a range of data collection functions, including patient history, visual acuity testing, and instrument maintenance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Acquaint new patients with office procedures and inform them of the purpose of all tests.
  • Obtain patient history, including chief complaint, history of present illness, and past history.
  • Perform duties consistent with ophthalmic writer/scribe, including accurate and consistent documentation and measurement tasks.
  • Assist physician with laser procedures and minor surgery, maintaining practice standards of sterile technique and infection control.
  • Triage patients, determining who should be seen next and maintaining a smooth flow of patients to the physician.
  • Provide telephone support regarding ocular emergencies, prescription refills, and patient care questions.
  • Maintain instrument calibration and perform archiving functions according to manufacturer recommendations.

  • Ability to work as a team member and perform comprehensive work-ups on 3.5 patients per hour.
