Job Summary

As a Staff Nurse at Sheppard Pratt, you will provide high-quality patient care in our Adult Co-Occurring Services unit. This role requires a compassionate and skilled nurse to work collaboratively with the treatment team to develop and implement individualized care plans.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess, plan, administer, and evaluate patient care in accordance with team treatment plans.
  • Administer medical treatment as prescribed by physician.
  • Teach and provide psychosocial support to patients and their families.
  • Provide day-to-day clinical direction to assigned Mental Health Workers or other paraprofessional staff.
  • Document and report patient progress to treatment team.

Requirements
  • Must possess a current license as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Maryland (or compact state) at time of appointment and continuously while in position.
  • Experience in a psychiatric nursing setting preferred.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of nursing-acquired through at least one year of inpatient RN experience; prior LPN inpatient experience will be considered with every one year of LPN experience equating to 6 months RN experience.
  • Must be able to work at least four shifts per month.
  • All new clinical staff will begin their extended clinical orientation/training immediately following your first day of employment.
