Lead Cardiovascular Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Cardiovascular Specialist to join our team at Atlantic Health System. This is a critical role that requires a strong understanding of cardiovascular procedures and a commitment to delivering exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Utilize invasive cardiovascular procedures as necessary, working under the direct supervision of cardiologists and radiologists.
- Demonstrate a thorough understanding of cardiac, vascular, respiratory, and renal physiology and pathology.
- Recognize and interpret ECG waveform morphology, wave patterns, and their significance, including lethal arrhythmias.
- Identify and respond to ECG changes occurring in heart chamber enlargement and myocardial infarctions.
- Collaborate with physicians to alert them to abnormalities in clinical laboratory values for Arterial Blood Gases, electrolytes, hemoglobin, BUN, and creatinine.
- Perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation and intervene appropriately during and after a lethal arrhythmia using ACLS standards.
- Monitor diagnostic cardiac catheter procedures and intervene as necessary.
- Identify cardiac pressure waveforms and inform Interventional Cardiologists when applicable.
- Calculate basic hemodynamic parameters using the recording computer.
- Record catheterization events in the database computer.
- Understand and provide necessary supplies for diagnostic cardiac catheterization.
- Describe the fundamental steps in a diagnostic heart catheterization and monitor patients safely during the procedure.
- Perform cardiac outputs, O2 saturations, and ACT measurements.
- Monitor percutaneous interventions and differentiate between PTCA, directional, and mechanical rotation atherectomy.
- Explain the indication and potential complications of thrombolytic therapy for Acute MI.
- Identify the benefits of supplementing angiographic imaging with intravascular ultrasound and Doppler velocimetry technologies.
- Describe the indications for electrophysiologic testing, permanent pacemaker implant, and therapeutic ablation of dysrhythmias and implantable cardioverter defibrillators.
- High School diploma or GED equivalent.
- LEAD-specific certification related to the position or an Associate's Degree/Technical Degree in a related field.
- All licenses and certifications needed to fulfill the duties required of a Technician at the state and/or national level.
- Registered Cardiovascular Interventional Technologist (RCIS) certification.
- 3 years of minimum Cath Lab experience.
- BLS and ACLS certification.
