Position Overview:
Chipton-Ross is seeking multiple Test Engineer 2's for a contract opportunity.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
As a Test Engineer, you will be responsible for:
  • Designing, developing, and implementing testing methodologies and equipment.
  • Planning and organizing labor, schedules, and equipment necessary for testing and evaluating standard and specialized devices.
  • Providing the test area with parameters for sample testing and specifying the tests to be conducted.
  • Compiling data and identifying necessary changes in testing equipment, procedures, manufacturing processes, or new testing requirements.
  • Overseeing the testing of all customer samples and conducting special tests that cannot be performed in the test area.

Leadership Responsibilities:
In this role, you will also:
  • Lead product testing efforts, collaborating closely with all components of the Operating Unit for test planning, coordination, setup, execution, data reduction, test reporting, and post-data processing.
  • Guide the integration of products with test tooling, software, equipment, and instrumentation.
  • Oversee test data collection, conduct post-test data reviews, reporting, and support verification of test requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS:
To be considered for this position, you should possess:
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering or STEM-related field.
  • A minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience in testing, systems engineering, design engineering, manufacturing engineering, or related fields.
  • Strong problem-solving skills demonstrated through hands-on project experience.
  • Excellent communication abilities, including presentation, oral, written, and listening skills.
  • Self-motivation with the capacity to organize and prioritize assignments and tasks.
  • The ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team, adapting to changes and dynamic requirements.
  • Proficiency in technical writing and/or procedure development.
  • Experience with testing automation or other lean manufacturing/testing methodologies.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Additional qualifications that would be advantageous include:
  • 5+ years of specific experience in test engineering.
  • Proficiency in test automation software (e.g., LabVIEW) for product testing.
  • Experience in measuring and controlling various electronic components such as motors, actuators, positional sensing devices, and load transducers.
  • Background in the aerospace or aeronautical industry.
  • Familiarity with applicable manufacturing processes such as machining, finishing, and rapid prototyping.

EDUCATION:
A Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering or STEM-related field is required, with the institution being accredited.

WORK SCHEDULE:
This position operates on a 9/80 work week, requiring 100% on-site presence. Overtime and travel may be necessary.
