Job Summary

The Lead Electromyography (EMG) Technician plays a critical role in the success of our Neurology department. This position requires a skilled professional to perform nerve conduction and evoked potential studies under the direction of a neurologist. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a strong attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare patients for procedures, ensuring their safety and comfort in the laboratory.
  • Explain procedures to patients and their families, addressing any concerns or questions they may have.
  • Assist in laboratory operations, including maintaining equipment and supplies, and preparing billing sheets.
  • Oversee the work of other EMG technicians, ensuring adherence to best practices and protocols.
  • Train new technicians, manage schedules, and coordinate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree in a related field (required).
  • Combination of relevant education and experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • 5 years of experience in Electromyography/Nerve Conduction Study (EMG/NCS) (required).
  • Certification in Nerve Conduction Technology (CNCT) or Registered Nerve Conduct Study Technician (RNCST) (preferred).
