We are committed to providing exceptional care and support to our residents at Los Angeles Jewish Home. As a Physical Therapist Assistant, you will play a vital role in helping our residents achieve their goals and maintain their independence.
Responsibilities:
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for:
• Collecting assessment data as part of the evaluation process, as directed by the supervising Physical Therapist.
• Providing direct treatment to residents, as directed by and according to the plan of care outlined by the supervising Physical Therapist.
• Documenting resident progress towards meeting established goals.
• Teaching exercises to residents, family members, and caregivers, and may provide instruction in the use and care of orthotic, prosthetic devices, and other assisting apparatus.
• Completing required forms and documents in accordance with company policy and state and/or federal regulations.
Requirements:
We require:
• An Associate Degree from an APTA accredited program.
• Licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant, if required by state law.
Physical Demands and Environment:
The successful candidate will be required to stand, walk, use hands or fingers, reach with hands and arms, feel, talk, and hear. They will occasionally assist in lifting and/or transferring patients weighing between 100 to 250 pounds. The employee will occasionally be exposed to blood or other body fluids, fumes or airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals. In compliance with applicable law, reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the position.
