Position Summary:

Mountain View Hospital is seeking a dedicated Admissions Clerk to facilitate the smooth and efficient admission process for patients.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Ensure timely pre-registration of patients for both inpatient and outpatient services, verifying personal and insurance details.
  2. Obtain necessary signatures for admission conditions and initiate the Advanced Directive process.
  3. Communicate effectively with supervisors, nursing staff, colleagues, and physicians.
  4. Process patient payments during admission and discharge, maintaining accurate departmental records.
  5. Collect co-payments as required and document transactions appropriately.
  6. Stay informed about hospital policies and available services.
  7. Exhibit flexibility and organizational skills, especially in high-pressure situations.
  8. Provide respectful and dignified treatment to patients and their families, ensuring confidentiality of all records.
  9. Foster positive working relationships within the department and across other departments.
  10. Engage in ongoing educational programs and fulfill annual training requirements.
  11. Attend mandatory meetings and maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
  12. Complete additional tasks as assigned.
  13. Maintain a quarterly accuracy rate of 95% on admissions.
  14. Ensure accurate timekeeping in accordance with hospital policy.
  15. Answer incoming calls professionally and promptly.
  16. Uphold a professional demeanor and adhere to the dress code.
  17. Admit walk-in patients in compliance with EMTALA guidelines.
  18. Document any payment collection issues and report to the supervisor as necessary.
