Job Overview

Location: Commerce, CA

Compensation: $21.53/hr.

Position Summary:

The role involves overseeing all aspects of the cooking process within a food production environment. This includes ensuring cleanliness and accuracy in documentation, managing the workflow in the cooking area, and adhering to production schedules. Strong leadership qualities are essential, along with a commitment to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), sanitation, safety, and personal conduct standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the pre-heating system for multiple kettles via HMI controls.
  • Retrieve necessary ingredients from storage, including rice, sugar, and various dairy products.
  • Accurately measure and prepare ingredients prior to cooking.
  • Produce Rice Pudding products following established recipes.
  • Maintain cleanliness of cooking equipment after each use.
  • Document production metrics and test results for each batch, including ingredient details and cooking times.
  • Follow specific recipes to achieve desired product characteristics.
  • Conduct routine quality testing of food products.
  • Utilize electric pallet jacks for handling milk totes.
  • Disassemble and dispose of empty packaging materials appropriately.
  • Ensure the cooking area remains tidy, including waste disposal.
  • Address any water accumulation in the production area as necessary.
  • Properly label and store any leftover ingredients at the end of the shift.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to comprehend and follow standard operating procedures (SOPs).

Education and Experience:

A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred. Experience in food manufacturing is advantageous but not mandatory.

Physical Requirements:

  • Moderate physical activity is required regularly.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching are necessary.
  • Ability to hear and respond to safety signals in a noisy environment.
  • Vision must accommodate close, distance, and peripheral views.
  • Willingness to work in a multi-shift setting.
  • Exposure to various food ingredients, including spices and meats, is part of the daily responsibilities.
