We are currently seeking a Construction Engineer for a contract role with our esteemed client, Westinghouse Electric Company. This position involves providing essential support for engineering initiatives within the metropolitan area.

The selected candidate will spend considerable time in the field, collaborating with project teams focused on various construction assignments. This role will encompass multiple projects at different phases of development.

Travel Requirements: The position entails travel between metropolitan locations and additional sites, which may occasionally require overnight stays. Mileage reimbursement for personal vehicle use and other expenses will be provided.

Location: Onsite in the metropolitan area.

This is a non-exempt position under a contract arrangement.

Work Schedule: Hybrid model with remote work on designated days and fieldwork on others.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with EPC contractors and field inspectors.
  • Engage with a project-specific team, including project managers, engineers, and construction managers.
  • Work closely with project controls for cost and scheduling management.
  • Coordinate with field inspectors to address any non-conformance reports (NCRs) and ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Assist the lead engineer in interpreting design drawings and managing construction compliance.
  • Provide contractors and field teams with necessary information, including specifications and drawings, while managing contract scope.

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree in Construction, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Previous experience in utility or other relevant industries is preferred.
  • Proficient in advanced computer software applications.
  • Familiarity with ProjectWise, Microsoft Office, and Bluebeam is advantageous for reviewing contractor drawings.
  • Experience with SAP is a plus.
  • A minimum of two years of relevant experience is required.
