ProCare Therapy is seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Education Teacher to join our team. As a Special Education Teacher, you will provide individualized instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with special needs.
- Provide direct instruction and support to students in various settings, including inclusive classrooms, resource rooms, and specialized programs.
- Utilize a variety of instructional strategies to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and other school staff to develop and implement effective support strategies.
- Monitor and evaluate student progress through data collection and analysis.
- Provide individual and group support to students to address academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, case conferences, and professional development activities.
- Conduct assessments to determine students' strengths, needs, and eligibility for special education services.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress, interventions, and services provided.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and guidelines related to special education.
- Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in special education.
Qualifications:
- Valid Virginia teaching license in Special Education.
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Special Education or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience providing special education services in a school setting.
- Strong knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with students, families, and team members.
- Proficiency in data collection and analysis.
