Role Overview

Key Responsibilities:
  • Execute trades in financial and physical power and gas positions, with a focus on the East Power market, adhering to established VAR, PME, and Gas Equivalent limits.
  • Engage in speculative trading, develop supply and marketing strategies, and optimize assets to enhance profitability while mitigating risks through diverse trading instruments.
  • Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of the East/PJM gas and power markets, including supply/demand dynamics, operational frameworks, and regulatory landscapes.
Accountabilities:
  • Achieve profitable trading outcomes that align with the team's financial targets by effectively managing gas and power trades and optimizing the asset portfolio.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of evolving supply/demand factors in the East region, including generation/load trends and infrastructure developments.
  • Uphold compliance and regulatory standards within the trading environment.
  • Formulate and implement short to medium-term gas trading strategies.
  • Deliver on individual and collective position management to generate significant annual PnL through speculative trading and asset optimization.
  • Collaborate with traders, marketers, and clients to ensure competitive pricing and support.
  • Work closely with various functional and commercial teams, including Origination, Fundamentals, Accounting, Operations, Credit, and Risk Management.
Qualifications:
  • Legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis.
  • Bachelor's degree in relevant fields such as Economics, Business, Finance, Engineering, or Mathematics, or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in trading financial and physical natural gas and power within the East/PJM markets.
  • Expertise in the fundamentals of the East/PJM gas and power market and asset optimization.
  • Experience in Options Trading and the ability to manage options effectively.
  • Familiarity with fundamental simulation forecasting tools to identify market opportunities.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
