Job Summary

NYU Langone Orthopedic Hospital at NYU Langone Health is seeking a Central Sterile Technician to join our team. As a Central Sterile Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the cleanliness and safety of our surgical instruments and equipment.

Responsibilities
  • Decontaminate, disinfect, test, adjust, assemble, and transport mobile patient equipment.
  • Decontaminate, inspect, assemble, prep, and pack and sterilize designated surgical instrumentation.
  • Conduct inventories, including ordering and stocking medical disposable goods in storage areas and ensuring sterile processing of all materials.
  • Answer telephone calls and respond to requests from internal and external customers.
  • Participate in a continuous quality improvement process.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Current certification for Central Service by an accredited agency, such as IAHCSMM or the National Certification for Surgical Technologist.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions and perform basic mathematical calculations.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Knowledge of specific health care products, patient care equipment, surgical instruments, medical terminology, and basic use.
