Event Technology Director II Leader

Job Summary

This is a leadership position that oversees the sales and operations team to achieve revenue and profitability goals. The successful candidate will have excellent leadership skills, customer service focus, and experience in audio visual technology.

Key Responsibilities
  • Account Management:
    • Develop strong relationships with clients, provide excellent customer service, and ensure customer retention.
    • Manage high-profile events, act as a point of escalation when needed, and identify key issues and decision-makers.
    • Partner with Venue Sales Leadership on sales strategies, create business review presentations, and leverage internal resources to facilitate contract renewals.
  • Financial Management and Reporting:
    • Drive results by managing an efficient and profitable operation, focusing on revenue maximization and cost control measures.
    • Ensure event profitability, manage labor, equipment sub-rentals, and other costs, and train operations and sales managers to complete standard reports.
    • Analyze reports to effectively manage the business, enforce billing system utilization, and confirm venue partners process payments in a timely manner.
  • Operations Management:
    • Direct operations team to manage daily floor operations, including scheduling, equipment setups, operation, and strikes.
    • Confirm inventory control procedures are followed, maintain safety, security, and quality assurance of equipment, and guarantee an Encore management presence at venue meetings.
    • Analyze schedules and available labor and equipment resources, making recommendations for labor and equipment sharing within local markets.
  • Sales Management:
    • Hold sales managers accountable for maintaining a healthy pipeline, achieving established revenue targets, and confirming all known opportunities are in CRM.
    • Lead sales forecasting efforts, ensuring accuracy and timeliness, and create presentations for senior management related to performance, pipeline, and forecasting.
    • Maintain knowledge of new product/service offerings and emerging technology supporting meetings and events.
  • Customer Service:
    • Cultivate and maintain relationships with customers, venue personnel, and various Encore functions and departments, delivering World-Class Service.
    • Lead the team to exceed expectations and needs of internal and external customers, meeting with guests on site or assigning this task to a team member.
    • Verify equipment setup accuracy and proper functioning, monitor each event, and check in on customers throughout the day.
  • People Development:
    • Promote a culture of high performance, accountability, and continuous improvement, valuing learning and a commitment to quality.
    • Direct and manage performance, address employee concerns, maintain adequate staffing levels, and facilitate team development.
    • Navigate union labor market dynamics, where applicable, and manage human resources activities including selection, performance management, and learning.
