Job Description: We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to join our team at Southwest Georgia United Empowerment Zone, Inc. As an Accounting Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our accounting department, including managing payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable. You will also assist the CDFI staff with revolving loan funds and prepare bank reconciliations each month. Additionally, you will work closely with the Executive Director to prepare the annual budget and assist in preparing required quarterly and semi-annually reports to USDA, HUD, and other state, federal, and private agencies.

About the Role:
This is a full-time position that offers a competitive salary of $70,000 per year. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles and experience in financial management. You will also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with staff members, board members, and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Supervise the Bookkeeper in the management of payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable
  2. Assist the CDFI staff with revolving loan funds
  3. Prepare bank reconciliations each month
  4. Prepare the annual budget in consultation with the Executive Director
  5. Assist in preparing required quarterly and semi-annually reports to USDA, HUD, and other state, federal, and private agencies
