Key Responsibilities:

  • Document revenue from both operated and non-operated properties.
  • Maintain Excel spreadsheets to reflect any changes in contracts, regulations, or purchaser agreements.
  • Generate necessary journal entries related to revenue.
  • Calculate, process, and remit Texas severance taxes.
  • Submit regulatory reports and ensure payment of royalties to GLO and UT Lands.
  • File federal and Texas reports for processed gas and natural gas liquids.
  • Conduct monthly variance analyses.
  • Reconcile accounts for severance tax payables.
  • Reconcile accounts receivable related to oil and gas purchasers.
  • Manage ongoing adjustments for prior periods.
  • Incorporate acquisitions into the monthly revenue reporting process.
  • Support the monthly closing process and annual audits.
  • Address inquiries from owners.
  • Engage in ad hoc projects as assigned by management.

Ideal Candidate Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in revenue accounting within the oil and gas sector.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities to identify and resolve discrepancies.
  • Self-driven and detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and time management skills, capable of meeting tight deadlines.

Software Proficiency:

  • Experience with OGsys (oil and gas accounting software) is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including proficiency with pivot tables and VLOOKUP.
