Environmental Health and Safety Specialist

Job Summary:
The Environmental Health and Safety Specialist will be responsible for ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards at our Twin Cities facility. This role will involve reviewing and evaluating compliance issues, maintaining company rules and regulations, and working closely with management and employees to maintain a safe and healthy workplace.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage regulatory compliance program for waste management, water discharge, Tier II, SPCC, and Safety Data Sheet requirements.
- Maintain all necessary environmental permits, orders, and other legal, regulatory or customer requirements.
- Timely compile materials for license renewals, updates, and registrations.
- Assist with maintaining site regulatory documents.
- Ensure and support Hazmat/Environmental Waste regulation compliance.
- Manage and track Powered Industrial Vehicle (PIV) training, records, and licensing.
- Assure all required regulatory and permit-required reports are accurately completed and submitted on time.
- Assist in annual safety training and new employee safety orientation sessions.
- Assist in the creation and implementation of health and safety programs and policies.
Requirements:
- High school degree or GED required. Bachelor's degree preferred.
- 3+ years related experience.
- Expertise in federal/state environmental regulations and legislation.
- Working knowledge of OSHA, EPA, FDA, AIB, FSC, ISO, GMP and customer ethic audits.
- Demonstrated leadership ability and communication skills.
- Above average proficiency in Microsoft Suite office programs.

Compensation:
The national pay range for this role is $55,000- $73,000/year. The pay range may be slightly lower or higher based on the geographic location.
