About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Nurse Extern to join our Ortho Spine Acute Care team at TriStar Summit Medical Center, a 200-bed comprehensive facility serving Davidson, Wilson, and surrounding counties. Our hospital is committed to providing exceptional patient care and is recognized as an Accredited Chest Pain Center with PCI and a Primary Stroke Center.

The ideal candidate will be a student currently enrolled in an accredited RN nursing program, with a strong passion for delivering high-quality, patient-centered care. As a Nurse Extern, you will work under the supervision of our experienced registered nurses (RNs) to provide delegated basic patient care services related to common nursing functions and activities of daily living.

Responsibilities

  • You will assist the patient care team with maintaining a clean, well-organized, and safe patient care environment.
  • You will communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care coordination.
  • You will demonstrate a commitment to quality care by following established policies and procedures.
  • You will participate in ongoing education and training to enhance your skills and knowledge.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, current.
  • Currently enrolled in an accredited RN nursing program.
